Accounts Clerk

Position: Accounts Clerk
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Hastings Office

An opportunity has arisen in our Hastings office, for an account clerk to deal with the day to day to running of the office accounts and assisting the partners with the accounts management.

The position will involve the following:

  • Dealing with all incoming payments and liaising with the bank. Ensuring that all payments are distributed to the correct client ledger.
  • Dealing with all telegraphic and BACS payments
  • Dealing with the daily transfer of monies between accounts i.e client to office.
  • Ensuring VAT account is correctly maintained
  • Ensuring all invoices in respect of the business are dealt with efficiently and liaising with the partners.
  • Dealing with cheques and other payment requests
  • Dealing with all account queries
  • Liaising with the accountants to ensure firms accounts are up to date
  • To be responsible for ensuring the firms risk assessments are up to date and ensuring all staff undertake regular training
  • To ensure the firm is complaint with GDPR and Anti-Money Laundering procedures
  • Assist with the marketing of the firm

Personal Specification

They are looking for someone who is a qualified experienced accounts clerk that is able to work well as part of a team and has good communication skills. Candidates should have at least 3 years’ experience working within a law firm. They should also be:
