Tini Owens, who has been married to Hugh Owens for 40 years, will have to stay married to him as Tini has been unable to convince the Supreme Court that Hugh’s behaviour is unreasonable.
Although the decision appears to have been reached with reluctance, it is clear that the rules in respect of divorce need to change as it can force people to remain trapped in an unhappy marriage.
Tini will now have to wait for a divorce until 2020 when she and her husband will have been separated for two years.
